From the Secretary’s Desk – November 2023
From The Secretary’s Desk
Most of us have remarked about the months flying by. They sure have, and we now reach the month of November, which we as masons know is the month that we elect new officers for the upcoming masonic year. Let me say that with all the hardships that we have encountered lately, our officers that have stepped up to new positions have done an excellent job. Your current officers are ready for the challenges that they will encounter. What we need is your support and participation. With the fine group of men from Sunnyside Lodge, we look forward to a super 2024.
As many of you are aware, our master WB John Quiroz, passed away on October 17th, at the age of 62. What a loss to the members of this lodge and masonry in general. John did so much to keep the lodge running smoothly, by taking care of the WEB site and emailing all the Journal’s to members. John was a member of Grand Lodge committees and served as master three times. His service will be held at Omega Funeral Services, 223 S.E. 122nd Avenue, Portland, 10AM, November 4th. Masons, please plan to arrive by 9:30AM.
Upcoming Christmas activities are in the works so please make sure you check our calendar. Our building Christmas Party will be held Sunday, December 3rd, 2PM. Please plan to bring the family as this will be a super celebration. Don’t forget to also put our December stated meeting on your calendar as entertainment will be provided by the Dickens Carolers and ladies are invited.
We all look forward to many good times ahead. Pat & I wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving and a very blessed and healthy Holiday Season.
