From the East – April 2019

Greetings from the EAST,

Spring is finally here, as you may all know, Washington lodge is Celebrating their 150th Anniversary on Saturday, June 22nd at Washington Lodge # 46. The Address is 3612 SE 52nd ave. The doors will open at 10am. The Ceremony will start at 11am in the Lodge room. The Ceremony should last around 1 hr. After the celebration, there will be a luncheon and some more Fellowship. If you are planning to attend this event PLEASE, RSVP to [email protected] or to our SW, Warren Burkholder @ [email protected] This way we can get a proper head count.

Like I said, it is Spring, so let’s get together and do some traveling. I intend to travel to a couple of lodges in April. The first one I will be traveling to is Enlightment Lodge on Friday, April 5th; Dinner at 630pm and Meeting at 730pm. The next Lodge I intend to visit will be Lents Masonic Lodge on April 11th; Dinner at 630pm and Meeting at 730pm.

Brethren, if you have nothing pressing on April 5th or April 11th, let’s get together with these 2 lodges and meet some new brothers or maybe see some brothers you have not seen in a while. Remember Brethren, to see a change, one must, MAKE THE FIRST STEP!!!

Also in May, I will be traveling to Gateway Lodge in Warrenton, Oregon. My plan is to leave around 430pm. If anyone would like to take this trip, we can carpool and visit Gateway Lodge, please email me at [email protected].

Gateway Lodge meeting date is May 1, 2019; 630 pm dinner and meeting 730pm.

Did you hear about the lodge that was holding meetings in the function room of a local hotel while its Temple was undergoing renovations? One evening, a traveling salesman asked the receptionist who the men in the function room were.
The receptionist replied, “Oh, those are the Mason’s”.
The salesman said, ” I’ve always wanted to join the Mason’s. Do you think that they would let me in?”
“Oh no,” the receptionist answered. “They’re very exclusive. Why, you see that poor guy standing outside the door with a sword in his hand? He’s been knocking for six months and they still won’t let him in!”
