Master’s Message – September 2023

Brethren,

At the August Stated communication, we elected our new Officers for the rest of this masonic year. Your current officers are WM, John Quiroz; SW, Matthew Cox; JW, Aaron Enriquez; Treasurer, Larry Harmon; Secretary, Donald Stapleton; SD, Jesse McCann; JD, Bob Richardson; Tyler, Lynn Foley; Musician, Gary Ball; Historian, Jim Akers; Marshall, Dennis Harris, Chaplain, Todd Lewis.

This was followed up just a week later- by conferring the EA Degree upon Iain Lidster. In addition to our current prospects, we have three new prospects all within the age of 25-40. Naturally, they will be invited to our dinners and events. So in the upcoming months, please reach out to these fine young men and introduce yourselves. Not only do they want to join our fraternity, but they want to join our lodge. It is our duty to guide them on their masonic journey and show them our lodge traditions. They are our future and legacy.

It has been a long time since we have done a secret ballot for a Hiram Award recipient. We will do this at our September meeting. This is a very prestigious award, the highest award a lodge can bestow upon a member of their lodge. This is for a lifetime commitment to the lodge, way more than a “mason of the year award”. The recipient can only get this award once in a lodge.

Our September Stated communication is Wednesday September 13th. In keeping with our “summer times” theme, this meeting’s attire will be our traditional Barongs. Food will begin at 6:00pm, Stated at 7:00pm.

Update on the Grand Master’s Achievement Award. There are two things left to complete:

1) We need to do one more visitation. We have selected Nov 1st at Willamette Lodge. It is also the Grand Master’s Official Visit and seems like a good time to me. This event is open to all Washington 46 members, please try to make it. We need a total of 5 members, two of which must be principal officers, naturally I will be there.

2) We also need to complete the Torchlight program. If any want to help with this, please contact WB Jim Akers or myself. All that is needed is to answer some written questions with the manual and page number used to find the answer. All manuals needed are in Grand View which can be downloaded.

Sept 13th – Sept Stated @ 7pm, dinner at 6pm
