From the Secretary’s Desk – October 2019
The chill is in the air, the leaves are turning bright gold and red and even the snow has dusted the tree tops in the upper mountain range. You ask, where has the time gone? It’s time for our fall activities with our meeting this month starting at 7:30PM. This October happens to be our annual Past Masters Night and I encourage all of you to join us for a very special meal and great entertainment. Some of you may remember Jesse McCann from a number of years ago as he performed at lodge. A remarkable talent, Jesse has performed all over the world and we are fortunate to have him join us. DON’T FORGET TO CALL OR EMAIL WITH YOUR RESERVATION.
On Sunday, the 30th of September we paid tribute to William A. Gordon with a memorial service at lodge. Will passed away September 20th and what a service it was. To say the family was shocked at the number attending was an understatement. The crowd was overflowing with some 140 family and friends bringing memories and stories of being a mason, husband, father, uncle, grandfather and just a great friend. WB Ken Hall conferred the funeral service and did a fantastic job.
We have been a busy group this year and I encourage our members to spend some time with us, not only at our stated meeting but for our other events as well. The Grand Lodge will have their Occasional Communication here on November 16th. Please register for this very special event at the Grand Lodge Home page. Looking forward in seeing you in October.
Respectively submitted,
Don Stapleton, Secretary
