From the East – May 2019
Greetings from the EAST,
Spring is finally here. There is a lot going on at Washington lodge. The first thing happening this month is Mother’s Day. Let’s not forget about Mom. Without mom none of us would have ever known the definition of Compassion; so this is one Brother to another reminding you to send flowers or a card. Wait, I have a better idea yet, bring your mother, wife, and / or daughter to our Stated Meeting. This way none of us Forget about Mother’s Day. This month, my wife plans to have some special Games & Activities for the ladies while we are conducting our business in the Lodge.
Brethren, there is a contest this month. Come to Lodge wearing Spring Colors. The winner will receive a $20.00 gift card from Starbucks. Remember the Brightest Light always shines through!!!!
The next item on the agenda is the 150th Year Celebration. This will be happening on June 22nd. The doors will open at 10am at Washington Lodge. If you intend to be a part of this celebration, please RSVP our Senior Warden, Warren Burkholder.
Reminder, June’s Stated Meeting Time Change to 7pm
Last but not least, I will never forget to mention the one thing I think about when I think of the month of May. Memorial Day. Let us never forget the Ultimate Sacrifice, that some men Gave!!!!
A Doctor was examining one of his patients who was very nervous. The Doctor realized that he was a fellow Mason and, to put him at ease when the examination was over, he said: “You may now retire in order to restore yourself to your own personal comforts.”
To which the patient replied, “Yes, and on my return you will no doubt render the usual charge!”
