About the evening’s entertainment:
Jesse McCann is one of Portland’s leading classical guitarists. A veteran musician of over 25 years, he has performed as a soloist, in various chamber settings and across genres and styles with several bands. He is also a member of the critically acclaimed Oregon Guitar Quartet. His endeavors have taken him to Central America, Europe and just about everywhere in the United States.
Jesse began playing the guitar at age nine. He came to the guitar the same way many young kids do in America, by way of rock and roll and the electric guitar. After several, he began studying the classical guitar later resulting in multiple competition prizes and the completion of two performance degrees.
Jesse runs the guitar studies program at Portland State University and is the host of a successful podcast known as The Tactical Guitarist, a show that takes a deeper look at how to make a career as a guitarist. He lives with his wife and two children in Garden Home.
This November, Jesse will be a featured soloist at two guitar festivals in Italy.
