From The Secretary’s Desk
I usually like to start my message with some positive news but this month I have the sad duty to report that we recently lost two of our brothers, MWB Larry Weaver, PGM, and WB Russ Michaels. MWB Larry passed away on August 8th, 2023, at the age of 81. As many of you know MWB Larry held many offices in so many masonic organizations. A church service for Larry has already been held but a masonic service will be held at Washington Lodge sometime in October. Will keep everyone posted as to time and place. WB Russ passed away on August 13th at the age of 67. A Memorial service will be held October 7th, 2023, at 1PM, Grace Pointe Church, 10750 S.E. 42nd Avenue, Milwaukie, Or. Please keep MWB Larry and WB Russ in your thoughts and prayers.
We have a busy few months ahead beginning with our stated in September, a new line of officers and plenty of plans for the remaining months of the year. Congratulations to our newest EA, Brother Iain Lidster, who received his first degree on August 16th. We are looking forward to our October stated meeting where we will honor our past masters and widows of the lodge. A catered BBQ is in store so it will be a very special evening. Again, we welcome those members from Sunnyside Lodge who are now part of the Washington Lodge family. Don’t forget that everyone is welcome at our Officers and Building Board meeting at the end of the month. Please see our most recent Trestleboard will all the upcoming dates.
We look forward to having you join us every month, so please plan to spend a few hours at Washington Lodge enjoying some great fellowship with your brothers.
