From the Secretary’s Desk – April 2020

This month, it has been very difficult to bring you good news stories from Grand Lodge and about the many activities that Washington Lodge has planned for its members. We can’t turn on the TV, read the newspaper, or look at the computer not knowing something is going on in the world that is causing a tremendous hardship on its citizens. Our daily routines, such as working, going to school, shopping, visiting the grand kids have all been disrupted by something we cannot see, feel or hear. The fear of the unknown, it seems like a movie, one that we hoped would never happen. We know that it will eventually pass but the results will linger.

We as masons have developed a sense of resiliency to the challenges in the daily world and in the lodges and groups that many of us belong. We look to those groups for fellowship and contribute to the well-being of our members. This is the time for all of us to step up our outreach to those members that we don’t see often and make sure their needs are being met. The officers are ready and willing to lend a helping hand if the need arises.

While no meeting will occur in April we look forward in getting back together to present awards and continue our business of spreading Brotherly Love and Affection to our members. If you can spare that one night a month we certainly will welcome you with open arms. Please stay tuned to the Grand Lodge and Washington’s WEB site for the most updated information. Please stay safe and may the Good Lord bless and keep you.

“So Mote It Be”

Fraternally,

Don Stapleton, Secretary
