From the South – August 2018
Greetings from the south!
The annual Family and Friends Picnic was held on Sunday, 7/29, and it was a great time! As I’m sure most of you know, this is an annual event put on by our lodge, along with Sunnyside Lodge and Cornerstone Lodge. The weather was sweltering, but many people still attended. Our final attendance number was just under 200 people. Considering the heatwave, I believe 200 is a pretty good turnout. I heard many people report that they had a wonderful time. I know that my guests and I all enjoyed the event and greatly appreciated all of the work that went into ensuring that it was an enjoyable day. I personally had 10 guests show up, and each of them expressed great interest in attending next year as well. I would have liked to see more members from Washington #46 in attendance, but we were well represented by the brothers (and their friends and family) from our lodge that did make it to the event. On that note, I would like to thank a couple brothers from Washington Lodge for their help. First, I would like to thank Worshipful Brother, John Quiroz for showing up early to help with the set up. Second, I would like to thank Most Worshipful Brother, Don Stapleton for running many rousing games of BINGO. Thank you, brothers, for your hard work and diligence allowing this event to be fun for everyone who attended!
