A Hot Summer and Cooler Fall, We Hope

It was a hot one this July 29 as members and friends from Washington, Sunnyside & Cornerstone Lodges gathered to celebrate at Oaks Park. Some 200 attendees had a super time of good food, fellowship and even the water balloons flew as members played bingo and had some really fun games. This is the fun part of what masons do. We have fun together as families, while also serving our communities. I would like to especially thank those that showed up early to help set up and those that stayed until our picnic was over. Special thanks to our Junior Warden Brian Reichhoff, who was there from start to finish. Thank you, Brian, for all your coordination with members from Sunnyside and Cornerstone.

Let’s not forget the MMSAP (Masonic Model Student Assistance Program) Golf Tournament that was recently held at Stone Creek Golf Club in Oregon City; the Washington Lodge Team consisting of Larry Harmon, Shane Miller, Warren Burkholder and David Richert came in third place. Congratulations for a job well done!!

It has been a busy summer with schedule changes and fun activities but fall is just around the corner so there will be plenty to do in the next few months. There will be degree work, Past Master and widow’s night, elections and of course, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Please watch your Trestleboard for all upcoming dates and activities.

Brethren, Washington Lodge is in a period of transition and we need your attendance and support. While many of our older members are no longer able to attend lodge we certainly would love to have those that can attend, to set aside that second Wednesday of every month to pay us a visit. Please give me or the master a call if you need updated information about what’s going on and how you can participate. I look forward in welcoming you back in the months ahead.

Fraternally,
Don Stapleton, Secretary
