From the East – July 2018

Brethren:

July is here and is moving along at break neck speed. I apologize for the lateness of my contribution to the Trestle Board and really have no excuse.

We survived, in good order, our modified June Stated meeting. Again Lodge will be opened at 7:00PM for the July Stated on the 11th with light refreshments prior and snacks after the meeting. Dennis will be sitting in the East for this meeting as I will be having my left knee rebuilt the same day.

The Masonic Picnic will be at Oakes Park on July 29th. As in the past there will be plenty to eat and games etc. along with the wrist bands for those who want to enjoy the “rides”, I know that my grandkids really had fun. So gather up your children and grandchildren and be sure to circle this event on your calendar and plan to attend.

There are a lot of safety issues that need to be mentioned for this season of the year, it is hoped that you will consider your and your families safety, especially around water. Don’t forget life jackets for the youngsters even if they know how to swim. Sun Screen is very important as is keeping the kids hydrated. Drive defensively and remember if your lights are on you can be seen.

I have heard a lot of horror stories about the length of time it takes to recover from knee surgery, but I am hoping that I will be able to make the August meeting. I really don’t see any reason that I won’t able to attend. So, with that come out for the meeting next week (11th) and give Brother Harris your support.
