Greetings from the East

My Brethren,

After two months without one, we are again publishing a Trestleboard, and will publish it in digital form and in print for those who don’t have internet access. The new Website promises to be very dynamic, and should provide far more information than it has in the recent past.

This month, we are going to raise another Mason. Brother FC Octavio Padilla is tentatively scheduled to receive the MM degree on Wednesday, August 19th, at 7:00 pm. Please come out and support him.

On Saturday, August 22nd, we are having a Blood Drive at the Lodge. The Red Cross Blood Mobile will be in the parking lot from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. The need for blood donations is always high this time of year. If you can, and have time, please do donate a unit of blood.

The September Stated Meeting, on the 9th, will be Past Masters and Widows night. All Past Masters and Widows will be our guests for dinner, and there will be a special recognition program. Please plan on joining us.

Though it is more than a month away, please mark your calendars for Saturday, October 3rd. This is the date for the Official Reception for our own Grand Master Don Stapleton. The reception will be held at the Al Kader Shrine Center from 5:00 until 9:00 pm. No-host adult beverages will be available at 5:00, and a buffet dinner will be served at 6:30. The entrée will be prime rib or chicken, plus baked potato, vegetable, rolls, coffee, and dessert. The cost is $10.00 per person, and dinner reservations are required.

The Wednesday, October 11th Stated Meeting will be the Official Visit to Washington Lodge #46, A.F. & A.M. of Oregon, by Most Worshipful Brother Don Stapleton, Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Ancient, Free, and Accepted Masons in Oregon. Dinner will be served at 6:15, and the meeting will begin at 7:30, sharp. Please come out to welcome Don to his home Lodge, as Grand Master.

The new website, designed by WB Dale Palileo, has many tools and innovative features that all of us can use to communicate better with our brothers. I have asked the officers to each contribute an article on Masonry as often as they can, thus adding to our own light.

Fraternally,

Rick Laird, WM, Washington 46
