From the Secretary’s Desk – August 2019

Brethren,

Everybody has remarked how time is flying and it appears to be true. Where did June & July go? Too many activities—picnics, get togethers, parades, meetings and yes, let’s not forget our family vacation.

August continues with such outings but for Washington Lodge our stated meeting is just around the corner on the 14th. As a reminder, we start at 7PM with a light fare of food before the meeting and I believe after the meeting we will be having banana splits.

Our annual picnic at Oaks Parks was a big success with members and guests from Washington, Sunnyside & Cornerstone lodges participating. The weather was superb, the food top notch and the fellowship along with the raffle prizes was perfect for a Sunday afternoon. THANK YOU, THANK YOU to all that pitched in to help set up, cook and take down, your efforts were most appreciated.

We will also have the privilege of presenting a 50 year jewel to a brother from Pennsylvania, Kenneth E. Barker, a good friend of WB Bob Keller. I mentioned earlier that our ritual work continues as we are conferring a Master Mason Degree on brother fellowcraft Matthew Cox on Wednesday, August 28th. Please stay tuned for the exact time of the degree and let our SW, Warren Burkholder know if you would like to participate.

If you are not receiving our Trestle board, either by email or in the mail please let WB John Quiroz know. He would be happy to add you to the list. Please come and join us for our meeting in August.

Respectfully submitted,

Don Stapleton
Secretary
