Peace and all good my brothers!
What a pleasant time of the year that we see different kinds of colors from our trees all around the city, Autumn has officially begun! It's also the time of the year that we Fall back to our traditional schedule; second Wednesday nights to where we have our Stated Meeting at 7:30 PM with our dinner at 6:30 PM, and to our Sunnyside Brunch every second Saturday mornings at 10:00 AM.
There is a familiar warmth that fills our meeting hall—not just from the changing season, but from the bonds of brotherhood renewed. Though the year advances toward its end, our work as Masons continues with vigor. Most notably, we have the privilege and responsibility of guiding our newest Brother EA Marvin, along his Masonic journey. The path ahead requires the participation of all brothers, and I encourage each of you to consider how you might contribute to our lodge's continued success. Our Junior Warden stands ready to coordinate efforts and match brothers with roles that align with their interests and availability. There are opportunities for every brother to make a meaningful contribution.
Mark your calendar for our upcoming events at our lodge. Our family, plus-ones, and friends are always welcome to join us in our brunch and dinner.
- October 8th Wednesday - Stated Meeting at 7:30pm, dinner at 6:30pm
- October 11th Saturday - The Sunnyside Brunch at 10:00am
- October 14th Tuesday - Tentative FC Degree rehearsal at 7:00pm
- October 15th Wednesday - Tentative FC Degree of BEA Marvin at 7:00pm
- October 22nd Wednesday - Building Board meeting at 6:30pm - all concordant bodies in Washington Masonic Lodge are encouraged and welcome to have a representative be present. Officers' meeting afterwards.
- November 12th Wednesday - Past Masters' and Widows night at 6:30pm - we will have a special dinner rather than a regular Thanksgiving dinner. To be followed by our Stated Meeting at 7:30pm where we'll also hold our Annual Elections.
- December 10th Wednesday - Grand Master's Official Visit; special dinner at 6:30pm, Stated Meeting at 7:30pm. Join us in welcoming our Grand Master.
- December 13th Saturday - Christmas Party at 10:00am on our Sunnyside Brunch Day!
Acceptable attire: Suit & Tie. If not available, a Barong will do. No t-shirts.
Please note: All Masons must adhere to the dress code when entering the lodge room. This maintains the dignity and formal atmosphere appropriate for our tyled meetings.
Sincerely & Fraternally,
Aaron E.
Worshipful Master

Brethren,
Much of what makes a stated meeting run smoothly happens before we ever open the Lodge. Officers’ meetings are where plans are made, details are worked out, and the business of the Lodge is prepared so that our time together is efficient and focused.
When the officers meet in advance, it means the stated meeting flows with purpose. We spend less time on logistics and more time on the things that matter—ritual, fellowship, and the lessons of Masonry.
But these meetings are not just for the officers. They are open to all Master Masons, and I encourage you to attend. Your perspective adds value, your questions sharpen our planning, and your presence reminds us that the Lodge is not run by a few but supported by the whole.
If you want to be more involved, understand how decisions are shaped, or simply contribute your voice, the officers’ meetings are the best place to do so. They strengthen our stated meetings—and in turn, they strengthen the Lodge itself.
Fraternally, Jesse McCann Senior Warden |

Greetings from the South,
October is the harvest month. The seeds we planted last spring have grown all summer, and now we get the benefit of that growth. Washington 46, likewise, has planted some seeds and is ready to benefit from the growth of our members and fraternity.
Some seeds need tending and nurturing, while others seem to grow on their own; either way, good things come from the growth, and the benefits show well. Keep the fraternity in mind and continue to plant seeds.
This month, we will return to our usual second Wednesday schedule for our stated meeting. The dress code will be back to business (coat and tie), as well as dinner prior to the meeting. I know some Masons are averse to dressing up to attend meetings.
It is my belief that the reason to wear a coat and tie is to show respect for your Brothers and make a best impression on guests to our meetings and to the public at large. So, wear your suit with pride and stand tall. Be proud to be a Mason.
Please join us for our stated meeting on Wednesday, October 8th, dinner at 6:30 pm, meeting at 7:30 pm. Come see what is going on and join in some fellowship.
See you in Lodge. |

Fall has arrived and the lodge will fall back to our regular time and place for our stated meetings. We have had a very successful 3 months of meetings on the second Saturday with between 25-30 members attending. Our brunches were yummy, casual dress was very relaxing and our fellowship was outstanding. I know you will hear it from all the officers, but our dress will be more formal, with dinners at 6:30PM and our stated meeting beginning at 7:30PM. These next three months will be full of activity as we will have special events, lodges to visit, important business to vote on, elections in November along with our celebration of Past Master’s and widows night and finally in December, a Christmas party with brunch, and our favorite group, the Dickens Carolers for entertainment and a visit by the Grand Master, MWB Marc Strong. I am almost out of breath, talking about what's coming up. For those of you that haven’t visited for a while, this is your opportunity to pay us a visit.
Your lodge leadership for this year has been top notch. All of them have stepped up to make Washington Lodge one that we can all be very proud of. For a lodge that has been around for 156 years, I still have to think back to those days at our Burnside location and wonder where has time gone. Our fraternity is surviving because of the precepts we teach and the brothers that are dedicated to the craft. Our new members are generating a spark of excitement in what they do and how they are supporting our numerous programs. We need a few good men to continue this future progression.
It seems that there are challenges everywhere these days, but the comfort of your fellow member seems to be a welcome door whether it be in person or just a phone call. That one meeting a month will do wonders to uplift your spirit and encourage you to reflect on the past. Take care my brothers and God Bless!
Fraternally,
Don Stapleton, PGM, Secretary
