Brothers,
Join me in thanking the Anniversary committee for all of their hard work and dedication to have our Anniversary Open House a success project. Their commitment and collaborative efforts have been instrumental in bringing this special celebration to life. From the early planning stages to the final preparations, each of you has contributed your unique talents and tireless energy to ensure that our anniversary milestone is properly honored. The countless hours you've invested, the attention to detail you've shown, and the teamwork you've demonstrated truly exemplify what makes our organization strong. This open house will stand as a testament to what we can achieve when we work together toward a common goal.
The Fourth of July brings families together in a uniquely American celebration filled with tradition and togetherness. From firing up the backyard grill for burgers and hot dogs to spreading out blankets for the perfect spot to watch fireworks light up the night sky, the holiday creates lasting memories across generations. Children wave sparklers while adults share stories on the porch, and everyone gathers around picnic tables laden with potato salad, watermelon, and homemade apple pie. Whether it's a neighborhood barbecue, a trip to the local parade, or simply lounging in lawn chairs while red, white, and blue decorations flutter in the summer breeze, the Fourth of July offers families a chance to pause, reflect on their blessings, and celebrate both country and each other. May you have a good time this coming 4th of July.
Important Schedule Change for Summer MeetingsBeginning this month and continuing through September, our regular meetings will be moved to the second Saturday of each month at 10:00 AM, followed by a fellowship luncheon for all attendees. This temporary change is designed to increase accessibility and participation, particularly for members who find evening driving challenging. We strongly encourage all brothers to join us, especially those who have previously found it difficult to attend our evening gatherings. During this three-month period, our regular second Wednesday meetings will be suspended. Please mark your calendars for these Saturday meetings and plan to stay for the meal and fellowship that follows, as we work to make our gatherings more inclusive and welcoming for everyone.
Sincerely & Fraternally,
WM Aaron

Brethren,
Just days ago, we passed the summer solstice—the longest day of the year. We are reminded that light—so central to our Masonic teachings—is at its peak. It is a time of clarity, illumination, and reflection. Just as the sun stands still before beginning its slow return to darkness, we too are offered a moment to pause and consider where we stand in our Masonic journey.
If it has been some time since you’ve walked through the West Gate, know that the light still shines here for you. The Lodge is not complete without the presence of each of its brothers. This season, let the fullness of light be a gentle call back to the fellowship, purpose, and growth that first brought you here. You are missed—and you are needed.
Life gets busy. Work, family, responsibilities—they pull at our time and attention. It’s easy to let months slip by. But the lodge remains—a place of renewal, of steady tradition, of brotherly connection. The candles are still lit. The chairs are still set. The hands are still extended in friendship and welcome. Whether it has been weeks or years, your place here has not been forgotten.
Let this turning of the year be more than just a marker on the calendar. Let it be a moment to return—to the light, to the Craft, and to the brothers who look forward to seeing you again.
Yours in Masonry, Jesse McCann SW |

Greetings from the South,
July is an important month for me. Besides being the heart of summer and wearing shorts and T-shirts all day, I look forward to celebrating Independence Day, flying the flag of the United States and reflecting on what makes our country great. I also enjoy raspberries and blueberries ripening this month. Not to forget picnics, bar-b-que and eating outside makes July a special month.
Speaking of picnics, please remember our three Lodge picnic at Oaks Park on Sunday July 29th, starting at 11 am. There will be the usual picnic fare plus bingo, rides, raffle prizes, games and much more. Come for the food and fellowship. It will put a smile on your face.
On July 17th, Washington 46 Lodge will be participating in the annual golf tournament fund raiser for the Oregon Masonic Charitable Foundation. This year the event will be held at Glendover Golf Course in Northeast Portland with registration starting at 7:30 am and a shotgun start at 9 am. The fund raiser can use some more golfers, whether you are a novice or a scratch handicapper, all are welcome.
Please join us for our July stated meeting on Saturday the 12th, gavel down at 10 am and brunch to follow. This temporary time and date change gives the brothers who don’t drive at night or have other schedule conflicts the chance to attend Lodge and still be back home for a full weekend. The dress code is business casual or barong so leave your tie at home.
See you in Lodge. |

Its summer already, vacations are being planned, kids are out of school and all of us that belong to the various masonic groups are taking a little break, or are we? Washington Lodge members are busy as usual with our upcoming stated meeting on the second Saturday in July.
Don’t forget that for the next three months are stated meeting will be held at 10AM with a brunch or lunch following. This change will allow members who have difficulty driving at night to attend during the daylight hours. Dress is business casual, wear your barongs or Washington Lodge shirt. It will be a fun time, and I know very enjoyable for the members and the ladies.
To all those lodge members that planned our recent open house, you did a fantastic job. It's unfortunate that the weather didn’t cooperate this year, but the planning, support and execution of the open house was right on.
With new legislation coming out at our annual communication I encourage all our members to read up on those changes. If you belong to a few lodges and have previously been dropped for NPD, you might look forward to some notification from Grand Lodge as to your masonic status. More information will be forthcoming so please stay informed.
A busy few months ahead so please plan on joining us at our meetings. Our annual picnic at Oaks Park will be held at the end of July, always great fun for the members and their guests. I wish everyone a very safe and enjoyable summer. Please take care and God Bless!
Respectively submitted,
Don Stapleton, PGM, Secretary
