washington masonic building

From the Secretary’s Desk – October 2022

The month of September has been like no other, the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, with crowds like the world has never seen; the economy in a whirlwind—food prices going up and the political scene, well, that discussion later. And now, a massive hurricane is headed for Florida. What is a mason going to do? I know that each one of us, through our many years of masonic experience will survive these ups and downs and will for the most part be able to say our strength is the principals that we hold dear, Brotherly Love, Relief & Truth binding us all into a family of survivors. These times are tough for our lodges as well. The pandemic has made it difficult for members to get to lodge and many are thinking about merging just so they can keep their identity going.

We, at Washington Lodge, have our challenges as well. These last few months of the year will be active with several events planned. An EA Degree is planned for October, a Fellows of the Craft class will be started, elections in November and our annual Christmas party, and stated meeting in December, with the Dickens Carolers, is always a very special treat. All our dinners in the next three months will be catered and will need your reservation. Dinner at 6:30PM.

This facility and location are ideal for the groups that meet here and, in the future, will welcome other groups that would like to call Washing Masonic Center home. It’s one meeting a month, with great fellowship. Please join us, we miss seeing you!

DON’T FORGET OUR MEETING STARTS AT 7:30 P.M.

Respectively submitted,

Don Stapleton, Secretary
