From the East – July 2022

Greetings from the East:

The summer is finally upon us, and while most lodges go dark for the summer, Washington Lodge stays open and busy.

One of our annual events is fast approaching. Our summer picnic with Cornerstone, Sunnyside and newcomer Lents Lodges is at Oak Parks on July 31st. There is more information in this newsletter about it but let me say that it is open to all members of Washington # 46, their families, and friends! There will be food, fun and ride Bracelets for the kids! Come out and enjoy!

The second thing I would like to announce is that to assist our members in getting to and from Lodge, we will be opening a corporate account with Uber soon. This means that members who don’t drive at night or have difficulties getting to lodge, can call Uber and get a ride and the lodge will pay for it. I hope to have this in place soon so watch your e-mails or mailboxes for a special flyer with the details. I would like to thank our Senior Deacon, Matthew Cox for this idea and getting it all set up.

In the fall, we will be starting a Saturday brunch for all the tenants of the building and their families. Details are still being worked on, but the general idea is that once a month we will hold a catered Brunch and the members of all the different lodges and chapters of Washington Masonic Center and their families are invited to come out and enjoy some fellowship and have a bite to eat.

After a two-year hiatus, we will be having our Annual Christmas party this year. The date will be December 4th and plans are in the works. There will be Music, presents and I believe we have contacted Santa and he has agreed to make a visit!

So, as you can see, we are going to very busy the latter half of the year. But we need your help by participating in these events. Come out and support the lodge and its officers. Or if you would like to help out with one of the upcoming events, let myself or any of the officers know and we can get you all set up.

I hope everyone has a safe and fun 4th of July holiday and we will see you in Lodge!
