2021 a year in review

Brotherly Love, Relief & Truth—A Look Back 2021

Brethren, a year is almost over. We have had setbacks, but we have also made many accomplishments. We have new tenants, made many improvements in the look and condition of our building, and have managed to meet in person most of 2021. We recently had members gather to move totes from under our cramped stairway storage area to the vault and get ready for the holidays. And now, with our recent election of officers, we will start a new era in the history of Washington Lodge. One thing that we have not lost sight of, is the fellowship and closeness that we are accustomed to. We are a brotherhood and without that special masonic trait our lodge and many others would slowly disappear.

So, what do we have in store for the next few weeks and months? Our stated meeting in December will be extra special. A catered dinner will begin at 6:30PM, ladies are invited, with the Dickens Carolers entertaining during our stated meeting at 7:30. Please let me know if you are planning to attend dinner as we need a count for the chef. Three of our members have passed away in the last few weeks so please remember their families in your thoughts and prayers. A memorial service will be held at the lodge on the evening of the 14th for brother John Benneth, please try and attend if you can. Awards will be given out and we will recognize all the officers for this masonic year. We have a master mason degree scheduled for December 15th so it’s going to be a busy month.

As we move into a new year, I hope and pray that the health and welfare of our state and nation shows signs of improvement. I wish all our brothers and their families a very Merry Christmas and the best of health and happiness in the year 2022.

Respectfully submitted,

Don Stapleton, Secretary
