The Dues Dilemma

Brethren,

This is the time of the year when all our various groups that we may associate with are sending out their dues notices for the upcoming year. Yes, we all dread taking care of those essential tasks, like those monthly bills for gas, electric and other household expenses. Taking into account this upcoming masonic year, 2022, we have 29 members owning $5950.00. Most of our members have Life Memberships, those from past consolidations of other lodges. We would like to have Life Memberships for all members of Washington Lodge. We have talked about a plan to make this happen. I know this is a difficult time for all of us but your financial commitment to the lodge is also very important. Maintaining a building and a lodge takes a lot of effort and dedication by a few very dedicated masons. We are struggling with membership like many of the other lodges. The pandemic has made meeting difficult, and we are trying very hard to improve that. We need your support financially as well as your participation in our meetings. If you have that desire to be part of our officer corps that would be great. Within the next couple of weeks our annual dues notices will be sent out. Please try and respond to these on a timely basis. We will be happy to work with you if balances are due.

Some of the events planned for the remainder of the year are still scheduled, but may have to be postponed or cancelled. If meeting in person is still an issue, then maybe those events will have to wait until next year. Elections will also take place at our stated meeting in November. If any of the membership have questions concerning their dues please contact the secretary. I look forward to exciting times down the road. Get ready for Fall, standard time, cooler temperatures and we hope a few more showers. Have a fun month and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Respectfully submitted,

Don Stapleton, Secretary
