autumn leaves oregon

From the West – October 2021

The first day of Autumn has fallen and I hope that means cooler temps and no more 110-degree days. As with the changing of the seasons, there are some changes being done at the lodge. In the front hallway, we are replacing the curtains with horizontal blinds. The DeMolay office has been shut down and moved to a site in Salem and that room is going to be repainted and have new blinds installed also.

The kitchen will be getting a fresh coat of paint and there was some water damage in the lodge room behind the piano which will be repaired and repainted.

The mural that will go on the South outside wall is on track; we hope to get it done this year before the rains hit.

The parking lot has been re-striped, and we added one more Handicapped space. Some work was done on the tree that is on the SE corner. And finally, we put in all new bushes along the south edge of the parking lot.

We have also replaced the old AED device with a new one that is currently in the dining room. A big Thank you to WB Jim Akers for not only bringing the idea for a new one forward, but also for doing the research on new models and pricing.

A big shout out to Brother Matt Cox for stepping up and taking on the job of Building Manager. A lot of the changes you see around the lodge are his ideas and he is doing a great Job.

Our next stated meeting is October 13th. Come out and see some of the improvements I have listed above. Remember, this is Your Lodge! Make your voice heard. Tell us if we are doing a good job in maintaining YOUR lodge. If you have an idea for a project, speak up and tell us.

Stated Meetings are the 2nd Wednesday of the month. Officer meetings are the last Wednesday of the month. You don’t have to be an officer to attend.
