District Deputy Jim Akers
I came to Oregon in 1977 from Virginia. I first lived in Southwest Portland where I lived with my mom and my little brother. We then moved to Beaverton where I graduated from Aloha High School in 1987.
once I graduated, I got hired by Washington County Sheriff’s Office. I attended the police academy at Western Oregon State University. I also attended Oregon State University and Portland State University to fulfill prerequisites and graduated in 1998.
I worked as a court deputy for Washington County for five and a half years and in my service, I worked there high-profile state cases as a court deputy.
In 1998, I was elected to the City of Maywood Park City Council. in 2001, I was appointed City Council President for the City of Maywood Park.
My Masonic journey stated in 1998 in Beaverton Lodge 100. I was raised on November 23rd, 1998 as a Master Mason. I moved my membership to Parkrose 179.
I am a fourth-generation Mason. My great-great-great-grandfather was a Past Grand Master for the Commonwealth of Virginia, and my mom’s dad was a Master Mason in Kentucky and my father was also Master Mason in Virginia. I belong to four Masonic lodges; three of them are in Oregon and the fourth is in Virginia. My Masonic journey has led me to (Junior Grant Steward 1X) & (Grand Historian 4X) & (District Deputy 4X). Additionally, I am a 32nd-degree Scottish Rite Mason & member of Alkader Shrine in Peace Officers Devon.
