Update from the Treasurer

Sitting here in the vault has been very lonely this year. It has been some time since I have updated you on the Lodge’s financial situation. I am pleased to report that the Lodge finances are in exceptionally good shape. We have not met since March and therefore expense activity has been light. Other than the normal budgeted bills, the treasures activities have been minimal.

I have been keeping my eye on one activity. It is the financing of the new roof. In June, the Worshipful Master and I met with Brother Bruce Kent, who manages our accounts at Edward- Jones. We placed $100,000.00 into the Money Market account to ensure we have adequate funds to cover the new construction. The estimate for the construction and new equipment is approximately $90,000.00, $45,000.00 for the actual construction and $45,00.00 for the new equipment.

We were able to upgrade the Heating/Air Conditioning units. The units are more efficient and use an environmentally friendly refrigerant. Improvements in HVAC equipment has enabled these changes. Construction has started and plans are that it will be completed by the end of September.
