The Secretary’s Desk – July 2020

This July 4th Independence Day has a somewhat different meaning. What has become a celebration of massive fireworks, large gatherings, music festivals and the like, has become, this year a time for reflection and looking at the future with skepticism.

We, as masons, have been shown the light through our many principals and can look to the future with optimism that what we are encountering now, with the grace of our heavenly father, will fair better in the months and years to come. Celebrate this Independence Day every day of the year and practice those tenants of Brotherly Love, Relief & Truth.

Brethren, there are many groups right now that need your support. Please do what you can to provide assistance if you are able. Our National Treasure, “The George Washington Masonic National Memorial” had to close down on March 14th due to the virus. Much of the revenue for the operation of the memorial is from ticket sales and right now that source of funds has stopped. Our restoration work has to continue and any support for the memorial would be greatly appreciated.

We will meet again soon. Please stay tuned to our WEB site and also undated EDICTS from the Grand Master. I wish you all a very healthy summer and look forward to future stated communications very soon.

Fraternally,
Don Stapleton, Secretary
