From the East – May 2020

Brethren,

The importance of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth is amplified not diminished by our current conditions.

Brotherly Love as directed towards all mankind and especially to other Masons. Relief, in that every Mason is obligated to relieve the suffering of any Master Mason they encounter who is in dire need, and if in their power to do so, to the best of their ability, Also to act charitably towards society, giving of themselves to better the common good. And Truth, which is represented by the Divine in its multiplicity and diversity, as understood by all men.

Stay at Home is not simple, nor does it come naturally to most of us. This is the time to extend yourselves and contact those that you have not heard from recently. Let them know that you do care and learn how you can help if needed. Maybe just the call will be deeply appreciated. “Knock on the door”

If relief is needed and you cannot meet its demand look for help. Collectively we have great resources to assist those in need. Let your brothers know where there is someone in need. “Ask to find to help”

The Truth is often the most difficult virtue to realize. It is framed by facts not desires. Unfortunately, our senses may be blind to the facts by the strength of our commitment to our desires. Continue to insist that we act based on the Truth.

The most recent Edict of the Grand Master is that masonic gatherings such as Stated Meetings will not be held before June 1st. We will convene an internet meeting of the Lodge on May 13th to provide the opportunity to say hello to each other and share some stories. We will use the same format as we did in April.
