More than a Man. A Mason.

Part of my message this month relates to my recent trip to the Conference of Grand Masters. All Bodies are reaching out to members and perspective members to learn about Masonry and how that information can enrich our lives. In the following two paragraphs, it shows that a partnership with our various organizations will enhance that experience:

At the recent Conference of Grand Masters in Louisville, Kentucky, Imperial Potentate Jeff Sowder, along with Scottish Rite Sovereign Grand Commanders David A. Glattly, 33° (Northern Masonic Jurisdiction), and James D. Cole, 33° (Southern Jurisdiction), announced a formal partnership on the Path Forward for Freemasonry.

As part of that initiative, the three leaders announced BeaFreemason.org, which features a wealth of information including an explanation of Masonic terms, lodge life, symbolism, degrees and family organizations. Launched in mid-February, this first-of-its-kind site introduces Freemasonry to men who are looking to “become the best version” of themselves.

Brethren, as we attempt to encourage our officers and members to do better work in lodge let’s not forget that many of us are aging gracefully and just sometimes the mind doesn’t work quite as fast as it used to. Patience is the key but still striving to be the best that we can be.

We must in our busy lives stop to just listen and slow down our usual pace. Many of us belong to a number of groups, all requiring our attendance and attention. It easy to get caught up in our own little world of activities but we forget to rest, to breathe and listen. So, I encourage all of you to stay busy with your jobs, your family and with your Masonic organizations but take time to smell the ROSES, your heart will thank you.

Please join us for our stated meeting in March. You will love our dinner and our Washington Lodge Fellowship.

Fraternally,

Don Stapleton, Secretary
