summer golf

From the Secretary’s Desk – September 2018

It won’t be long before the rain returns, and the lazy days of summer are behind us. It has been an eventful three months with meeting times changed; a 70-year award presentation, and on the 23rd of August, we brought a brother to light. Our newest EA is Brother Dylan McComiskey. I want to congratulate the team that participated in the degree as it has been some time since we’ve had the privilege of conferring one.

This degree is significant by the fact that he inquired about Freemasonry through the Grand Lodge WEB site. We met on several occasions and he asked to join the fraternity. Brethren, we have made additional contacts through Grand Lodge and our own WEB site and I know the future of Washington Lodge looks bright.

I want to especially congratulate the Golf Team of Larry Harmon, Shane Miller, Warren Burkholder and David Richert who placed third in the recent MMSAP Golf Tournament held at Stone Creek in Oregon City. A great day of golf for a great cause.

Our meetings will resume at 7:30PM through the rest of the year. Dinner will start at 6:30PM. We will vote at this September meeting for a Hiram Award recipient.

October will be Past Masters and widow’s night. Looking forward to a great turnout from our members. November will be election of officers and December will feature the Dickens Carolers. A very busy four months ahead and I encourage all of you to come and share some very special time with us.

Fraternally,
Don Stapleton, Secretary
