From the West – May 2018
Greeting’s from the West,
April showers bring May flowers, bring on the sunshine, May is my second favorite month of the year next to November, if it wasn’t for Thanksgiving or the food I get during Thanksgiving, May would be number 1, there is nothing I LOVE more than my Country, (sorry Cindy, I had to fight for her too).
May to me represents, Memorial Day, All Veterans and THE GREATEST FLAG IN THE WORLD!! There is a few small changes coming to the Lodge, the Officers and Members of the lodge are working very hard trying to adapt, change and or conform so that we can build a stronger lodge, not in appearance but more in the Core of the Lodge, this way, the changes will last for a while, not just for a moment, I truly believe if we keep this snow ball rolling, and we keep an OPEN MIND, that change is a constant thing and that we have to keep EVOLVING with the times, and the YOUTH, we will then to start to see the REWARDS of our EFFORTS!!!!
My high school assignment I was to ask a veteran about World War II. Since my father had served in the Philippines during the war, I chose him. After a few basic questions, I very gingerly asked, “Did you ever kill anyone?”
Dad got quiet. Then, in a soft voice, he said, “Probably. I was the cook.”
