From the Secretary’s Desk – December 2017

A very special thank you to the brethren of Washington Lodge for the opportunity to serve as your secretary for the 2018 Masonic Year. I strongly believe that we have a great line of officers and I know they will dedicate themselves to the ongoing programs that we currently have in place and those new ones that will benefit all the members.

To say that this year has flown by is an understatement. The holidays are upon us and the true meaning of our fraternity, especially at this time of year, really shines. Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth!! It means so much, not only from an individual standpoint but also as an organization to help our brothers and sisters that are really in need. Check on that neighbor, friend or even a family member that you seldom see and make sure that they are safe and sound. A phone call or a letter will do wonders to those that live just a few blocks away or across the miles. What a great way to boost the spirt of those we don’t often see.

As we venture into 2018 there will be a lot of uncertainty. It’s hard not to get caught up in the politics of the day, the financial markets and what’s going on in the world stage. But we as masons must keep a positive attitude and strive for the best in all we do. It will be a great year for our lodge and the masonic fraternity by just being who we are. Have a wonderful Christmas and a very happy and healthy New Year.
